K.Jones & the Benzie Playboys are bringing the roots sound of
southwest Louisiana's Creole, Cajun, and Zydeco scene to ya'll up here
in the hinterlands of Michigan and the midwest.
The Playboyz are dedicated to keeping
the Cajun/Creole music alive with live performances for two-steppin',
waltzing, and smoking red hot zydeco dancing.
The Playboys keep sizzlin' tradition alive and the crowd on the dance floor. Their performance crackles with rocking, rollicking sounds reminiscent of Amede Ardoin, Bois Sec, Canray Fontenot, Boozoo
Chavis, John Delafose, the Balfa Brothers, Iry LeJune, Dennis McGee...the Benzie Playboyz' sound fits perfectly in the ranks of the cajun/creole music masters.
With years of devotion to the music they love, the Playboyz know their roots and sing in authentic Cajun/Creole French lyrics.
The 10 button diatonic accordion of K.Jones is the driving
force of the music. Jack Freeman's free-wheeling fiddle intertwines
seamlessly into the melodies. Drummer Scott Sholten drops the beat right where the dancers need it, relentlessly keeping the time, and Ron Harrison's funky smooth bass lines shifts the dancing into high gear. Mark Stoltz is THE man on
the scrubboard and tit'fer, driving the beat forward and the crowd wild.
This is the sound of the steamy swamps and the swaying dance halls of the south.
Liven up yourself, and your event, with these premier cajun/zydeco masters.
